Bring physics to life with Yeet the Yo STEAM Show! Blending yo-yo artistry with science concepts like angular momentum, rotational energy and 'yeet' force. The interactive Yeet Station invites guests to explore their g force and spin time with their own hands — creating the space for joyful, kinetic play!
This interactive library program brings the yo-yo to life with storytelling, history, and scientific wonder. From ancient origins to modern days, Yeet the Yo! traces the fascinating journey of the yo-yo through time while highlighting the science of spin, the value of perseverance, and the magic of personal growth!
Yeet the Yo! is an inspiring show that merges science, storytelling, SEL, and skill-building into one unforgettable experience. Students explore physics concepts through yo-yo motion while also learning the JOY formula:
J = Joy takes effort
O = Openness to new experiences
Y = You have unique value to share
How Yeet the Yo! meets Common Core Standards & models UDL
Yeet the Yo! uses the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework embedded both in the content and the delivery of the program. As a performer-educator, Jenifer Joy models UDL principles in her own journey of learning and mastery, but she also designs the experience to engage diverse learners.

Yeet Means to Throw with Force
What does that mean mathematically and scientifically? I wanted to know so....
I created a "Yeet Station" with a accelerator device measuring g force and XYZ - then I modeled a ChatGPT to be my Yeet Calculator - it takes the rim and axel diameter, plus the string length and combines that with the force (aka. yeet or g force) of a throw, and even factors in a straightness factor (because friction with affect spin time) and ultimatly, you get your YES - a Yeet Efficiency Score!
