I am a joy-centered educator, performer, and community builder who teaches that joy is a skill — cultivated through effort, curiosity, creativity, and embodied learning.

Relocating to Austin to Serve Non-Public Schools

Dear Head of School,

I am writing to express my interest in potential teaching or enrichment opportunities at Acton Academy. I am an educator and teaching artist relocating to Austin, with over a decade of experience working across public, private, alternative, and international learning environments.

My teaching approach is rooted in whole-child education, experiential learning, and social-emotional growth. I design learning experiences that integrate movement, music, storytelling, and hands-on inquiry to help students develop confidence, curiosity, and resilience. I am especially drawn to schools that value creativity, meaningful engagement, and the belief that joy and effort are essential components of learning.

I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to Acton in a classroom, enrichment, substitute or hybrid role, and to collaborate with a community that prioritizes student agency and connection. Thank you for your time and consideration!

My personal philosophy is the acronym JOY: Joy -- the result of effort and perseverance from learning to do something. Openness—the willingness to try new things and grow from mistakes. You—develop your abilities and you create joy for yourself, share your abilities and you create joy for others

This is a short sample from a larger arts-integrated lesson I use to support confidence, perseverance, and scientific thinking.

I’m happy to adapt this based on age group or interests.

Quick Overview

I’m an arts-integrated educator and teaching artist with over a decade of experience designing experiential learning for children and communities. My work blends movement, music, storytelling, and hands-on STEAM concepts to help learners build confidence, curiosity, and joy through skill-based practice.

I’ve taught across public, private, alternative, homeschool, international, and university settings, and I specialize in creating inclusive learning environments that support social-emotional growth alongside academic engagement. Whether in classrooms, libraries, or community programs, I focus on joy as something we practice—not just feel.

I’m currently relocating to Austin, TX and exploring opportunities with non-public schools, youth-focused nonprofits, libraries, and community programs that value whole-child education, creativity, and meaningful engagement.

“I’m seeking to partner and serve in classroom, enrichment, or hybrid roles where arts-integrated and experiential learning are valued.”
